ABOUT
Hi, I’m Hussa.
Internal Medicine physician in Kuwait and the person behind The MOC.
I built The MOC around the way residents actually work, learn and think on call: what to check first, what to give, when to worry, and where to find it all at 3 AM without digging through a textbook.
HOW IT STARTED
The MOC started during my early medical training, because I kept wanting resources that didn’t exist: practical, usable pages that matched real hospital work rather than exam syllabuses.
So I started writing them myself, first as notes for my own calls, then for the people on call after me. the longer story is on substack →
HOW IT GREW
What began as a few resident survival notes has grown into a broader medical-education platform: clinical tools for the ward and the on-call shift, practical guides for documentation and training life, and the MOC+ Library, including the six-volume Acute Medicine series, written the way I think on a ward round rather than the way a textbook is organised.
It’s still growing, mostly in the direction of whatever residents ask me about next.
WHY I STILL BUILD IT
I’m still in clinical training myself, so The MOC grows alongside the problems, questions and gaps I actually run into at work. When something on the site is missing or wrong, I usually find out on a shift, and then I fix it.
I like taking complicated medicine and turning it into something practical enough to use during a real shift.
