privacy notice
what we keep, and why
your account
a free MOC account stores three things: the name you choose to display, your email address, and a password (stored hashed, like any WordPress site). your email is used for account access only: signing in and resetting your password. creating an account does not subscribe you to any mailing list, and we do not send marketing email through registration.
your saved guides
the guides you ♥ are private. nobody else can see your shelf, including other members. your avatar choices and the optional subtitle on your page are stored with your account.
sharing, if you choose it
sharing is off by default. if you turn on “share my shelf”, you get a public page at themoc.co/member/your-handle showing your avatar, display name, subtitle, and only the guides you explicitly tick to share. your handle comes from your display name, never your email. a second setting, “let people find me”, is also off by default: without it, nobody can look you up by handle, and only people you give your link to can see your page. turning sharing off hides the page again. public member pages are excluded from search engines.
your call list
the colleagues you keep in your call list are private to you. they are not notified, and there are no follower counts anywhere on MOC.
cookies and analytics
MOC runs on WordPress.com, which sets the technical cookies needed for signing in. we use standard, aggregate analytics (page views, not profiles) to see which guides help people. your saved guides are not used for advertising, sold, or shared.
deleting your account
email hussa@themoc.co from your account address and your account and its data will be deleted. anything you had shared publicly disappears with it.
questions? the same address reaches a human.
