starting in 2024, the kuwait medical promotion exam (KMPE) is now a mandatory requirement for all doctors applying for the assistant registrar position. you must pass this exam before moving on to the next steps.

1. from KIMS submit all internship evaluations and get your letter of completion.
2. go to MOH – الإدارة الفنية
bring your letter and tell them:
– which specialty you want
– which hospital you prefer
– when you plan to start
they usually try to match your preferences, but may assign you elsewhere if there’s a staff shortage.
3. wait for a call (around 5 working days)
you’ll be notified when your كتاب التثبيت is ready. if no one calls, go check in person, it’s worth the trip.
4. once you get كتاب التثبيت
– if you’re starting in the same hospital as your internship: give it to your department’s secretary.
– if it’s a different hospital: take it to
→ سكرتارية قسم التخصص
→ مدير المستشفى
→ مدير المنطقة الصحية
